Having fought in the brutal war alongside the Earthen Ring, Cenarion Circle and Horde itself, a small Fellowship of tauren (and a powerful elven ally) has reunited in the capital city of Orgrimmar. Though the war against Twilight's Hammer has left the once peaceful people scarred and drained, they meet one another with laughter and cheer. Winter's Veil, the ancient Shu'halo festival of new beginnings is upon the world. The rainy season is upon the barrens and even the warm climate of Mulgore has grown cold. Snowflakes floating down from the sky in the southern regions of this holy land. Winter's Veil is a time of renewal, as the dry land is refreshed and the empty bellies of soldiers are warmed with what food the land has to offer.
Hope... the Banepaw Fellowship clings to this now more than ever. Some with darkness on their minds and hearts, others with only the coming feast in their vision, the nomads leave Orgrimmar soon to travel back to Mulgore and prepare the ancient feast yet again.

After an incredibly cheerful and successful Winter's Veil feast, the Fellowship left Mulgore again for Orgrimmar. Elder Karonak has felt called to aid the Earthen Ring in the depths of Vashj'ir, most of the Fellows offered to go with him. However, they received a letter from Shavai and The Spirit telling of an illness infecting Po'jin, one of their shaman. In the letter Shavai asked for the aid of druidic magic.
Hoping this to be but a small distraction from their search for a ship to carry them across the sea, a few of the nomads went to Sen'jin Village to see what they could do to help the sick troll. Once there though, they discovered a darkness in Po'jin; a shadow of an ill Shu'halo spirit who now spreads a spiritual sickness throughout the barrens.
Peering into his friend's being, Shavai saw that the spirit was assaulted by something and split in half. One half fell into the earth realm of Deepholm. The other, obviously, is in the barrens. Nassier left with Shavai and a troll Watcher to find this wounded spirit in Deepholm while the rest now search the barrens for any sign of its other half.
Though the Banepaw Fellowship is pulled in many directions by many responsibilities, they know such a sickness must be cured quickly, lest it infect the whole of Kalimdor and beyond.

In the realm of earth, the tortured spirit of the tauren ancestor cried out to be united with its other half, desperate for solace but trapped deep below. What the two trolls and elf-friend of the Fellowship discovered in Deepholm unsettled them, but was not so horrifying as the half of the spirit in the barrens.
Confused, broken and ill with the spiritual reflection of a disease which ended the ancestor's life, the upper half of the spirit attacked several of the nomads. They came upon the tree under which he died and attempted to commune with it, but desire for vengeance burned too strongly in the malicious shadow of the spirit. Its root reached out and grabbed hold of Windchanter, using his body to speak to the other and tell its shameful tale of being abandoned by the tree by its tribe when the disease fell upon it.
In this bond Windchanter learned that the spirit was that of Soilspeaker Banepaw, his ancestor, and that the tribe which had so shamefully abandoned him was his own, many years ago. Regret and sudden doubt wracking his heart, he sought out Elder Karonak for advice. Though the elusive elder was not to be found, Shavai took charge, sealing the lower half of the spirit in a temporary vessel and taking it to the raptor grounds, where the nomads had reburied the bones of Soilspeaker.
The spirits fused, causing a burst of energy which sent Shavai flying from the grounds and yanked Windchanter's spirit from his body momentarily. Trapped with his ancestor in the spirit world, Windchanter had what felt like an eternity to learn more of Soilspeaker and apologize for what had happened, promising that such a dishonorable act would never happen again in the tribe. He swore an oath to Soilspeaker, to honor him as his ancestor and a spirit patron of the tribe. In turn, Soilspeaker offered his wisdom and aid when ever needed by any of the Banepaw Fellowship.
Returning to his body, Windchanter left the raptor grounds to find Shavai upon the ground, his body shattered and bloodied by the great fall. Though the troll shaman was able to use the ahnk around his neck to bring himself to life again, he is greatly damaged and will take some time to heal.
Ever thankful and indebted to these trolls, the Banepaw Fellowship hopes to someday return the favor. Until then, they prepare to sail to Vashj'ir following their elder's guidance.
