This is a spattering of ideas for the recruitment post I'm going to put up around mid-December on the realm forum. It will look a lot nicer and more organized after I figure it out. Let me know if you want to see anything added or omitted.
[H]The Banepaw Fellowship - Spiritual Tauren Roleplay (or something like that)
The Banepaw Fellowship is a group of nomadic tauren seeking a more traditional, shamanic, natural lifestyle.Through preserving the oral tradition, eating and drinking of the land, respecting and protecting nature and living among family, the tribe retains traditional tauren ways.
The Fellowship is...
...a roleplaying guild first and foremost.
...heavily Story-driven. Something is always going on in our guild's story.
...lore based. Lore is the common language through which we RP with each other. However, we don't let that restrain our creativity.
...immersion based. Realism within the established reality of WoW is something we strive for.
...exclusive in regards to our own membership. We like being small and tight-knit and we want to actually desire contact and RP with all of our members.
...a good place for new roleplayers! We all have a lot of roleplaying experience and wisdom to impart. If you're willing to learn, we're willing to help teach you!
...buckets of fun!
The Fellowship is not...
...PvP or oriented as a whole. Though members occasionally do BGs and whatnot together.
...exclusive in regards to who we RP with. We associate with tons of people. Some folks might contradict the storyline we follow (Blizzard's) but we've never had to 'blacklist' anyone as a whole.
...a job, as much as I wish I could be payed to be an officer in it. We realize that people have real lives and can't always be on. However, we do ask for a certain degree of devotion and availability. Two or three nights of RP a week is good.
...seeking to grow much larger than 10 or so active members. Like I said, we like being a smaller guild.
Activity
Banepaw is pretty active. We don't roleplay every single night; many of us have alts we want to take through the new world and dungeons/leveling we'd like to do for Cataclysm. We tend to get together every three days at the very least. However, most of the guild is willing to roleplay if you just ask in the OOC channel!
And yes, we're a 'prime time' guild. Most of us have day jobs or school, so there's not a lot of activity in the morning and afternoon.
Roleplay Style
Everyone in the guild roleplays their own way, but as a whole we have a particular habit I think I should point out. It is very common for someone in the guild to RP as an NPC or the environment. People who aren't RPing as the NPCs/environment are encouraged to interact with these temporarily controlled characters or situations. For example, someone might emote: "The earth suddenly shakes as a herd of thunder lizards charges towards the party. Behind them a group of quilboar raise their spears and squeal taunts, driving the beasts our way". Our roleplay extends beyond that, of course, but it happens quite often. If that annoys your or you'd rather not associate with players who roleplay as the environment or NPCs you'd probably be unhappy in the Fellowship.
Why Join?
Roleplaying is an art. The Banepaw Fellowship serves to help its community improve and express ourselves through this fun, engaging and potentially beautiful medium. We all love what we do in this guild and want to make our roleplay better and better. In addition, we're a playful, relaxed group of friends looking to enrich our community with cool people.
We offer each member a say in pretty much everything we do IC and OOC. Our storylines are entirely shaped by the IC actions of each character. We ask for a certain level of initiative from each member to get involved, but you'll find that it isn't difficult. The Fellowship leaders have plenty of side-plots, tasks and ideas to help you stimulate RP in the guild.
Membership
The first thing you want to do is go to our website and read the 'About' section. Seek us out and roleplay with us! We really don't expect anyone we roleplay with to join the guild. You might decide you don't want in the guild but want to remain involved in our stories; that's great! The more contacts we have, the better.
If you do decide you want to join, let us know OOC. Find a reason why your character would want in. Show some interest! We have a trial period in the guild so there's no 'risk' in joining.
Blah blah blah. I'll add more as I think of ideas.
