So guys, what are we looking for in new recruits? I've had a couple people whisper me trying to get into the guild lately who I felt a bit hesitant about for various reasons. How much should we expect from potential tribe-seekers in the guild? The person has to roleplay with us before I'll even give them the tribe-seeker rank. Their character has to ask to join. Then, only after they've been around a bit and there are no objections to them joining will be give them a raptor horn and initiate them. If you haven't already, you can look at the rankings in the Tribe Page. What do you think we should be looking for in recruits? What level of RP experience, literacy, activity, devotion, etc are we looking for? What kind of people will we turn down? Penny for your thoughts.

My opinion: The person should be a tauren. Derp. We know that, but when I say Tauren, I mean, loves nature no matter what class they are, at least on some level, and feels some bond to the Earthmother and her people. Obviously, if they have a lore accurate and reasonable excuse for not having any of these traits it will be considered. Like you said, RP is important. That's pretty subjective, but for me, I just want to be able to understand them, and get a general idea of how their character exists in the world. That's not a whole lot to ask, but dang, I've RPed with some people that make their characters just seem hollow or absolutely insane simply because they can't type out logical statements and emotes. Anywho, that's all I can think of right now. I'll probably blabber more later.

While I agree that they should have a very good reason for joining our guild (the whole Earthmother thing) but I think our requirements for how well someone roleplays shouldn't be TOO strict. We want to be open to new or inexperienced roleplayers. At the same time, there are some people who have been RPing for years, and still have no purpose, depth or expression. People have to be willing to learn. Concerning recruitment, I think it would be wise to let new recruits know that we strive for deep, involved, quality RP based in lore but not not entirely restricted by the stagnation of the game mechanics.
